Preparing your child's birthday party

Preparing for your child’s birthday party is a critical moment that may or may not ensure that the party will go well. There is no need to stress yourself or to organize your child’s birthday party 6 months in advance. The key words are organization, common sense and above all fun!

Determine you needs and those of your kids

This is a step that should not be skipped! What do you and your child need and want?

Birthdays are like vacations and trips, they can all be very different, so it’s important to know what kind of birthday party you want. Do you want to organize a birthday party with a particular theme or in a special place?

Don’t hesitate to take the time to ask your child questions and listen to him or her to get more ideas for the birthday party of their dreams.

Tailoring the birthday party

Sadly, you can’t host a birthday party with all your son’s classmate in your 65 square meter apartment. Consider the place where you want to hold the party. Do you have an outdoor space? Do you want to rent a place to accommodate more children? Will you be the only adult to supervise the little guests?

Also take into account the season and the weather, if the birthday party takes place in winter, you will have to plan indoor activities.

Furthermore, we strongly advise you to have by your side a list of activities that you will have previously established with your little protégé in order to keep all the guests busy.

It is also best to supervise the celebrations with one or more other adults, this will be much less stressful for you and you can have eyes everywhere.

Last point to pay attention to? The subject that we don’t like to talk about: the budget! But you have to! Organizing a party has a certain cost, hence the interest to know the place and the number of guests. The prices can quickly climb!

Don't buy last minute!

It’s perfect! You know what kind of birthday party you’re going to throw for your little blonde head so it’s time to get shopping! Don’t hesitate to do your shopping in advance so that you don’t miss anything on the big day.

Making a list is always a good idea to avoid forgetting things and to avoid buying superfluous things.

If you are on a tight budget, don’t hesitate to ask around to see if anyone has birthday decorations they can lend you. The best economical tip for decorations is to go to a paper shop and create everything yourself. You can make banners yourself or make your own pinata.

Snacks and cakes

Children are often not very picky when it comes to cake. A chocolate cake and a strawberry cake will certainly do the trick.

However, don’t hesitate to ask the other parents if any of the children have allergies or other problems.

You can order the cakes in advance from a baker or you can make them yourself, it’s up to you to decide what inspires you the most!
